Privacy notice
What slopstopper.org does with information about you. Short, because the site does very little.
Who runs this site
slopstopper.org is run by an individual based in the UK, who is the data controller for anything described here. Contact: [email protected]. The controller's name is available on request to anyone exercising a right under data protection law.
Visiting the site
No cookies, no analytics, no tracking. Pages are static files; nothing on them loads from a third party when you view them. If you switch between light and dark, that one preference is stored in your own browser and never sent anywhere.
Hosting logs
The site is served by GitHub Pages and fronted by Cloudflare. Like any web host, they may log your IP address and request details to deliver the pages and protect against abuse. Those logs are held by them under their own terms; we do not receive, store or analyse them. See GitHub's privacy statement and Cloudflare's privacy policy.
The feedback form
The private feedback form asks about your use of plumb-line: which parts you used, language, kind of project, approximate size, version tested, what it caught, lint output, friction, bugs, and anything else. Your email address is optional; give it only if you want a follow-up to be possible. Everything you type is sent only when you press the button.
Purpose: to improve plumb-line. Lawful basis: our legitimate interest in understanding how the software behaves on real codebases. If you tick the box allowing us to quote you or name you as an early user, that is consent, and you can withdraw it at any time by emailing us.
Submissions are processed by Formspree, which receives the form and delivers it to our mailbox. Formspree is based in the United States, so your submission is transferred there; the safeguards it applies are described in its policy. The mailbox is a Google account.
How long we keep it
Feedback is kept with your email address for up to 24 months from receipt, so a follow-up is possible. After that the email address and anything else that identifies you are deleted from Formspree and the mailbox, and only the technical content is kept as project knowledge. Where you have allowed quoting, a quote may remain in project materials, without your email address.
Your rights
Under UK data protection law you can ask for a copy of the personal data we hold about you, ask us to correct or delete it, restrict or object to how we use it, and withdraw any consent you gave. Email [email protected] and we will respond within one month.
If you are unhappy with how we handle your data, you can complain to the Information Commissioner's Office, the UK regulator.
Changes to this notice
This notice lives in the site's public repository, so every change is recorded. The date at the top moves when it does.
